Delete your account
Niekie · last updated 5 September 2026
Niekie publishes compliance scores for online casinos. This page explains how to delete your Niekie account, from the Android app or from niekie.app, and exactly what is removed and what stays.
Delete your account in the app
Open the Niekie Android app, go to More, then Account, then Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. The account is removed immediately and you are signed out.
The typed confirmation is deliberate. Deletion cannot be undone and we do not keep a copy to restore from, so it should not be reachable by a stray tap.
Delete your account on the website
Sign in at niekie.app, open Account Settings, and choose Delete Account. It removes the same account and the same data as the app does; both go through one endpoint.
What is deleted
Your login and your profile, and everything that belongs only to you:
- Your account, email address and sign-in identity.
- Your profile: username, avatar, country, streaks and contribution counters.
- Your play controls, including any record that you set a block on gambling sites.
- Your saved operators, watchlists, alert subscriptions and notification settings.
- Your direct messages and friendships, on both sides of each.
- Your support tickets, votes and session history.
This happens at once, not on a schedule. There is no grace period during which the account could be recovered.
What is kept, and why
Contributions that other people's published figures are computed from stay on the site, with your account removed from them. That means your payout reports, forum posts and replies, complaints and ratings remain visible, but they are no longer linked to you or to any account, and nothing on them names you.
The reason is that compliance scores are derived from recorded observations. Deleting the observations would silently rewrite published scores for operators every time somebody closed their account, and those scores are the thing the site exists to publish. Detaching the account instead means the record survives while the person does not, which is anonymisation rather than retention: once the account id is gone, the row is no longer personal data.
If a post of yours contains something that identifies you, that is yours to remove and we will remove it on request. See the section below.
If you have an active block on gambling sites
Deletion is refused while a self-exclusion block is running, and the app tells you the date it ends.
Deleting an account removes the block with it, so allowing deletion mid-block would make it the fastest way around the one feature people set up for the days they are least able to argue with themselves. The wait is bounded: once the block expires, deletion proceeds normally.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You can ask us to remove specific data and keep your account. This covers the record that you set a block, an individual forum post or payout report, or anything in a post that identifies you.
Email contact@niekie.app from the address on your account, say what you want removed, and we will action it and confirm when it is done. We aim to complete these within 30 days, which is the limit the GDPR sets for a request of this kind.
Retention
Nothing attached to your account is kept after deletion. The detached contributions described above have no retention period because they are no longer associated with you or any account.
Ordinary server logs kept for security and reliability, which record IP addresses and requested URLs for all visitors and are not tied to an account, are discarded on our host's standard schedule and are not searchable by account.
